Turkish Films Shine at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival
With the support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema, Turkish cinema is being promoted at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival, one of Asia’s largest and most prestigious film events.
The Türkiye Stand, located at the heart of the festival, will remain open for four days, serving as a key meeting point for international industry professionals and Turkish filmmakers. The Turkish Cinema Reception was held as part of the festival programme, with the participation of the Consul General of Türkiye in Shanghai, Ms Özlem Kural.
This year, two Turkish productions “Kanto” and “Sahibinden Satılık Rahmet” are competing in the Asian New Talents Competition, further strengthening Türkiye’s presence in the festival. In addition, the Türkiye Special Section features screenings of “Adresi Olmayan Ev”, “Tavşan İmparatorluğu”, “Hakkı”, and “Gündüz Apollon Gece Athena”, offering festival audiences a rich selection of contemporary Turkish cinema.
By taking part in the Shanghai International Film Festival, Türkiye brings its filmmakers and stories to one of the most dynamic cultural markets in the world. The festival serves as a platform not only to showcase distinctive voices from Turkish cinema but also to build stronger relationships with Asian audiences and industry professionals, paving the way for future collaborations and wider recognition.
