Eurimages Board of Management Meets in Türkiye 21 Years Later

The first 2025 Board of Management meeting of the Eurimages Fund, part of the Council of Europe, was held in Istanbul from June 25 to 27. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the meeting brought together representatives from 39 Eurimages member countries.

This marked a historic return, as it was the first time in 21 years that Türkiye hosted this major international cinema event. Following the last meeting in 2004, Istanbul once again became a key center for the European cinema community with the participation of Roberto Cicutto, the new president of Eurimages.

Known for its crucial role in advancing European cinema through support for co-productions and distribution, Eurimages also serves as a vital platform for cultural and diplomatic cooperation. The meeting is expected to further strengthen Türkiye’s connections with the European film industry.

Since its establishment in 1989, Eurimages has contributed to over 2,000 projects, cementing its reputation as one of the most prestigious funds in the international film sector.
